Giovedì 24 settembre 2015,alle ore 11.00, aula I (piano rialzato) del Dipartimento di Economia, in via Kennedy 6, si terrà un seminario in lingua inglese del prof. Martin Mastalka (Università di Pardubice, Rep. Ceca), avente come titolo: "Strategic planning and measuring of its impacts into the city life". (La pianificazione strategica e la misurazione del suo impatto sulla vita urbana). Il seminario, aperto a tutti gli interessati, si tiene nell’ambito delle lezioni del corso di Urban and local policies della prof. Franca Miani.
It is easy to measure the productivity of a private company, by means of a lot of indicators such as profit, sold merchandise, and many others. But can the performance of city management be measured? How can non-economic profits of projects for the society, the environment, the “quality of life” be measured? The lecture will show some examples of set of indicators used for measuring sustainable development on the local level; some benefits coming from their practical implementation will be introduced as well.

Martin Mastalka Ph.D. graduated in Czech Republic at Brno Technical University, Faculty of Architecture in the field Urbanism. For six years worked for Municipality of Hradec Králové as an employee at the department of city development. Since 2009 has been working for University of Pardubice where is specialized in strategic planning and regional development where ee teaches regional development, urbanism and urban and strategic planning.
