Visiting the Department: A minimum guide for teachers
The Department of Economics welcomes visits from fellow teachers (professors and researchers) from abroad. In the framework of the ERASMUS/LLP program, the University of Parma has signed bilateral agreements with these universities.
This page contains some information for teachers of the said universities that may like to come and experience teaching in Parma.
How to agree on your visit
If you are a teacher interested in visiting Parma, please send e-mail to prof. Gino Favero | firstname.lastname@example.org:
- the desired period for your visit;
- the topics chosen for your class(es);
- any particular bureaucratic procedure you might need to follow for your home university.
The typical visiting period covers a full week (Monday to Friday): please note that such a week should fall within the teaching semesters, check the academic calendar. It is also important to know the topic that you want to illustrate, because this allows for finding the best "local" course for hosting your classes, so as to ensure proper attendance by students.
Teaching language is typically English.
Coming to Parma
Roughly mid-way in between Milan and Bologna, two of the biggest Italian cities, Parma is both a railway station and a motorway exit on the main transport lines that connect the two. There is also a medium-size airport, which is connected with London Stansted by Ryanair.
In the case that you need help with your accommodation, Parma University has an agreement for special prices with Palace Hotel Maria Luigia**** (mention that you are a visiting teacher from abroad when asking for your reservation). For more information, you are welcome to contact Ms. Tiziana Cordaro (email@example.com) at the "Servizio Scambi Didattici" (Service for Didactical Exchanges) of our University.
We look forward to seeing you in Parma!
