ORIENTATION AND ADVICE FOR ACADEMIC LIFE

Level I Tutor

Who are Level I Tutors
They are students enrolled in the second-cycle degree courses of the Department of Economics and Management, selected (they answered a call) and appointed by the Department Council.

What do Level I Tutors do?
They carry out tutoring activities directed at orienting and assisting students of degree courses of class L-18 - former 270/04 and previous orders, of the Department of Economics and Management, throughout their studies. In particular, they carry out:
- listening service for the managerial and organizational solution of any problems encountered by students, with a view to facilitating their educational process;
- activities on the Department and CdS social networks to disseminate information and news related to university life;
- activities to support the Department's initiatives (Tests, open days, placement days, conference assistance, etc..).

Level I TUTORS will be available in attendance at the tutor office on the mezzanine floor of the Department's hub (Kennedy Street, 6) according to days and times provided in the Calendar below.

Level II Tutor

Who are the Level II Tutors?
They are second-cycle degree graduates/doctoral students of the Department of Economics and Management, responded to a call, selected and appointed by the Department Council.
They carry out didactic-integrative, propaedeutic and remedial activities directed at didactic tutoring and support of the teaching of the Department of Economics and Management's second-cycle degree courses.
Tutors are in charge of acting as a "filter" between students and the professors of reference of the various disciplines; if necessary, they can also personally support students with learning difficulties on some specific subjects and/or with organizational difficulties.

What do Level II Tutors do?
- "Basic" assistance to students with learning problems on some specific subjects;
- Organizational/methodical assistance for taking exams in English;
- Support/assistance to ERASMUS students;
- Orientation activities at University/Department Open Days and Info Days, support activities for Department initiatives (Tests, Placement days, conference assistance, etc.).

Student "Adopt a New Student" tutors provide support in the educational, organizational and social spheres, facilitating the integration of freshmen into the university environment to make it easier for them to continue their journey.

Tutors "Rock exams" are Ph.D. and Ph.D. students who carry out discipline-specific tutoring activation to specifically counteract the phenomenon of "Rock exams", that is, those course units that statistically significantly hinder the smooth progress of female students.

International Tutors

Who are the international tutors?
They are students enrolled in the second-cycle degree courses of the Department of Economics and Management, selected (following an official call) and appointed by an ad hoc committee on the basis of the evaluation of the qualifications and requirements possessed at the time of their application.

What do international tutors do?
International tutors are a new figure of tutors whose purpose is to assist all students of first-cycle degree courses, second-cycle degree courses and doctoral students in international mobility, both incoming and outgoing. Specifically, they are responsible for:

  • provide all the necessary information to students and PhD students interested in participating in any of the Department of Economics and Management's international mobility projects, both in the Erasmus + framework, as well as in the Overworld or Double Degree projects;
  • assist the outgoing student in all stages of the international mobility process, from the initial one with the compilation of all the documents necessary for departure to the final one, expected upon return;
  • assist the incoming student, ensuring an adequate information service about the opportunities available to him/her within our University, as well as intermediate with the Offices and the Department about the compilation and delivery of the required documents along with an orientation service that ensures the full integration of the foreign student within our academic network.
  • collect data and information related to international mobility projects involving Department of Economics and Management students in recent years, in order to offer an adequate information system of foreign universities involved in the internationalization process accompanied by statistical collection and analysis for the purpose of research, cataloging and analysis, which can be consulted by our students.
