Department bodies and committees

Department Council
The Department Council is the body that defines the Department's Mission and deliberates on the planning and management of its activities.
The following are part of the Council: the professors; a representation of technical and administrative staff in the amount of 10% of the component, with a minimum of three; the Department Administrative Management Manager who also serves as secretary of the Council; a representative of the research grant holders working at the Department where the number of grant holders is at least five; and a representation of the students enrolled in the undergraduate, second-cycle degree courses and PhD programs under the Department's jurisdiction.
The elected members of the Council serve a term of four calendar years with the exception of student representatives who serve a term of two years.
Coordination and Steering Committee
Article 16 of the Department's Rules of Operation provides for the appointment of the Coordination and Steering Commission.
The Commission is composed of eight elected Professors and the Director who chairs it, serves for the duration of the latter's term, and assists the Director in defining and developing the Department's strategies and related organizational impacts.
Commission on International Mobility (CMI)
The composition of the Committee on International Mobility (CMI) is deliberated by the Department Council.
The CMI deals with the mobility of students and female students (incoming and outgoing) in relation to international exchange programs (Erasmus, Overworld, DD...).
